Cave Trail- this two-hour trail takes you through a small portion of
the community and to Mangazi Cave

Guided Birding Walks
Guided by one of our local guides, they are experienced birders and have wonderful
knowledge of the fauna and flora of the area. Walks can be customized to your
interests whether it be birding, fossils, flora or fauna.
BOAT SCENIC TRIPS
Fishing a three hour fishing trip, fishing rods and tackle provided. Please bring hats
and sunscreen. Ideally this should be done in the morning when the water is calm.
Water will be provided, and other drinks needed will be for your own account. Trips
leave from the jetty at 6am. Minimum 2 guests R300 pp
Sundowner Cruise this two-hour cruise takes you around the point of Kwa Nibela Peninsula to watch an amazing sunset over the lake. Snacks and one drink of your choice will be provided, if you would like more than one drink this will be for your own account. Please note the afternoon weather is unpredictable and the water can be
rough, please bring hats and sunscreen. Maximum 4 guests R250 pp

Important Notice to Members
Water all resorts that are geographically distanced suffer from logistical calamities from time to time (electricity failure pump breakdowns). We try to provide for emergencies best we can (backup generators etc.) and, even if we always do our level best, we can only respond to failures as good as the immediate environment allows

It is reccommended that a vehicle with a high ground clearance is used when going to Sobhengu Lodge as the last 20km is untarredGPS Co-ordinates
Follow the route through Bethal, Ermelo and Piet Retief then through Pongola taking the N2 South bound to Hluhluwe

FROM HLUHLUWE TO NIBELA +-56KM
Please Note The Engen Garage on left at second traffic circle, is the last petrol station, it is suggested that you fill-up.
Travel through Hluhluwe town, at the fourth (4) traffic circle turn left, then follow the R22 Sodwana turn off on right and turn right, over the railway tracks, on to the R22 Sodwana Road
Travel on the R22 Sodwana road for 25.4km before you have to turn right on to L554
Please Note Once you crossed over a long bridge, Mzinene River, after 4km you will find a brown Nibela Lodge sign on left, turn right here on to L554 dirt road, you will immediately find a Green Nibela and Sobhengu sign on your left.
Continue to travel on the L554 dirt road for 4km, until stop sign, where road splits into three. Turn right on to L542 road passing through the Nibela tuck shop and local bottle store, you will find a Green Nibela and Sobhengu sign on left shortly after right turn.
Travel on the L542 for 5km to the T - junction and turn right on to the D675 at the Green Nibela and Sobhengu sign.
Travel on the D675 for 13km, until the road ends at the Nibela and Sobhengu gate.

The GPS co-ordinates to the Lodge are below. It is not advisable to use a GPS because they want to direct you in a straight line from Hluhluwe over the lake and most guests gets lost using the co-ordinates
